ArConnect Architects has designed the Slow People Spiritual Workshop, a building that provides visitors with physical, mental and spiritual healing in the Dali forest in Yunnan, China.

Nestled in Dali's Yinqiao forest, the Slow People Soul Workshop is a serene retreat embracing slow living. Centred around a native tree, its circular, sloping roof blends architecture with nature.

Low eaves (under 1.5 metres) invite curiosity, while an open wooden platform frames meditative sky views. Built with prefabricated steel-wood for minimal ecological impact, it features reclaimed timber shingles for weathered charm.

This sanctuary reconnects visitors with nature and inner peace through poetic design and tranquillity.

This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
