Neumann Monson Architects has renovated the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, a transformative renovation that converts an abandoned library into a headquarters that exemplifies global leadership in sustainability, equity and regenerative design in Iowa, United States.

For over 65 years, the Stanley Center for Peace and Security has worked with global policy makers to mitigate climate change, promote nuclear disarmament and prevent mass violence and atrocities.

Located in Muscatine, the new headquarters is slated to be the world's second building renovation to achieve full Living Building status, including carbon-neutrality and net positive-energy and water.

The centre creates a world-class workplace that fosters collaboration and well-being, demonstrating how sustainability and innovation merge to create solutions that are environmentally sound, economically viable and socially equitable.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
