Lendager and Sweco have designed the UN17 Village housing project in Copenhagen, Denmark.
UN17 Village is the world's first property development to incorporate all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals into a single housing project.
Completed in 2024, the development houses over 1,000 residents across five architecturally distinct buildings, prioritising sustainability, community and well-being.
With 200 innovative initiatives, it features low-carbon materials, rainwater harvesting and advanced indoor climate solutions.
The project achieves top-tier certifications, including DGNB Platinum and WELL Platinum. Designed for scalability, it fosters inclusivity with shared spaces, local amenities and biodiversity-friendly landscapes.
As an open-source model, UN17 Village sets a new standard for sustainable urban living, inspiring global cities towards greener development.
This project has been longlisted in the housing category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
