Spread has designed the Yamanote Line Museum's graphic identity for a new art initiative.
Yamanote Line Museum is an art project that reinterprets Tokyo's iconic Yamanote Line as a moving cultural platform.
Designed by Spread, the logo and website draw inspiration from the circular loop of the train line and the joy of unexpected detours.
Graphic installations appear at stations, turning everyday transit into moments of visual discovery.
A vivid fluorescent green – an amplified version of the line's iconic colour – winds through the design, visualising detours and meandering journeys that lead to serendipity.
This project has been longlisted in the graphic design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
