Čtyřstěn Architekti has designed the Children's Hospice House for Julia, the Czech Republic's first children's hospice in Brno, Czech Republic.
This project provides palliative and respite care, rehabilitation and therapy, offering comprehensive support for families in difficult times.
It is both a refuge and a place of solace, where life's hardest moments meet peace and acceptance.
A space for relief, communal support, privacy, and solitude, yet also for ordinary life and joyful gatherings, House for Julia embodies inner peace, acceptance and harmony.
Thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, it sits within a natural amphitheatre, embracing a central courtyard with mature trees and a pond.
All children's rooms and communal spaces face this inner garden, fostering a deep connection with nature.
This project has been shortlisted in the leisure and wellness project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
