Manuel Cervantes Estudio has designed Fátima Chapel in Acapulco, Mexico.

Fátima Chapel was conceived as a circular, open refuge for collective healing, gathering and rebuilding community after the devastation of Hurricane Otis and Hurricane John.

The chapel transcends its religious role to become a civic space for gathering, reflection and rebuilding social ties.

Its concentric layout and porous envelope columns enable light, ventilation and fluid use, while a subtle spiralling form creates an ascending spatial experience.

More than a building, Fátima Chapel is the spirit of a community that little by little rebuilds its identity, its roots and its voice.
