Foster + Partners and Kettal have designed Area, a modular furniture collection.

Developed in collaboration with Kettal, Area is a modular furniture collection which includes a series of structural columns, tabletops and integrated accessories.

Designed for adaptability across a variety of collaborative settings – including meeting rooms, co-working spaces, libraries, and cafes – its name reflects the intention to create a range of surfaces for work.

The aluminium column is a structural element, while also accommodating power, data and lighting infrastructure.

Available in three diameters – 90, 160 and 450 millimetres – the system enables different spatial arrangements, including both seated and standing tables.
