Lightnet and Playmodes have designed the Liquid Tiles installation.

Liquid Tiles is a kinetic audiovisual installation by the architectural lighting manufacturer Lightnet and the audiovisual research studio Playmodes.

The work features 126 rotating Liquid Line light units manufactured by Lightnet, arranged in a triangular, Truchet-inspired matrix and forming a continuous tessellated surface.

Driven by minimal algorithmic rules, the installation generates evolving spatial patterns that evoke organic and physical phenomena.

Sound is directly linked to the visual state, translating motion and scale into pitch and rhythm, merging light and sound into a unified perceptual system.

All firmware, software and generative systems were developed specifically by Playmodes for this installation.
