GRAS has designed the interiors of Brown's of Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Opened in November 2025, Brown's of Leith is the first phase in transforming George Brown & Sons Engineering Works on The Shore, a Category B-listed building and home to engineers for over 130 years.

Brown's of Leith extends the Custom Lane creative ecosystem GRAS established across the Water of Leith in 2016.

Independent food, drink and whisky-blending partners share the ground floor, with resident makers in textiles and jewellery above.

Future phases will give space to artists and architects while new elements are limited to three materials: softly shaped free-standing steel furniture, a bar of reclaimed sandstone and linen to settle the room.
