Marcin Rusak Studio has designed Ghost Orchid.

Ghost Orchid is a site-specific installation presented within the abandoned Pasino glasshouses near Villa Bagatti-Valsecchi in Milan.

Combining sculptural works, living plants and material research, this project transformed the former orchid greenhouse into an immersive environment exploring preservation, collecting, disappearance and regeneration.

Developed in collaboration with the Łukasiewicz Research Network Institute for Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes, the installation presented biodegradable 3D-printed sculptures alongside ongoing research into controlled PLA decomposition systems.

Premiered at Alcova 2025, Ghost Orchid proposed an alternative material lifecycle in which objects are conceived together with their biological afterlife, rather than designed solely for permanence.
