Blight Rayner Architecture and Snøhetta have designed the Glasshouse Theatre in Brisbane, Australia.

After opening in March 2026, the Glasshouse Theatre is already renowned for its undulating glass wall that acts as a veil to the theatre box behind.

"It was inspired by a poem by Aboriginal Artist Lilla Watson referring to the ripples of the adjoining river with fish visible below; the glass wall blurs and reveals people inside, forming a kind of 'public theatre'," said Blight Rayner.

This project aimed to engage the public with cultural life, further accentuated by positioning flexible performance spaces at street level where the design enables passersby to view rehearsals and performances as they walk around the building.
