Amass has designed the interiors of OnLand in Hangzhou, China.

OnLand in Hangzhou draws inspiration from improvised street structures observed through 'Walking Towards the Street', a self-initiated research project by Amass documenting everyday street-built objects.

Elements such as flatbed trolleys, ladders and temporary worktables are reinterpreted as flexible display systems, creating a retail space that feels closer to a workshop or street market where handcrafted objects can be encountered intuitively.

Instead of designing a fixed and highly controlled shop interior, this project adopts the logic of improvised street setups – structures that are simple, adaptable and built from readily available materials.
