Lidewij Edelkoort has designed and curated the Room collection for El Espartano.

Room is a collective rug collection presented by El Espartano during the 2026 edition of Milan Design Week at Galleria Rossana Orlandi.

Curated by Lidewij Edelkoort, the collection brings together 11 limited-edition rugs developed with five female designers: Carole Baijings, Kiki van Eijk, Ina Meijer, Mariola López Mariño and Edelkoort herself.

Manufactured in Buenos Aires, Argentina, using 100 per cent locally sourced wool and hand-tufting techniques, the collection was developed in collaboration with El Espartano's Design Lab.

Room explores the idea of the room as a place of intimacy, shelter and emotional connection through texture, colour and material experimentation.
