Woods Bagot has designed the interiors of The Forest in Hobart, Australia.

The Forest at the University of Tasmania is a highly connected campus that unifies the existing on-site built elements with integrated landscape, through-block connections and publicly accessible thoroughfares.

As an example of mass timber construction, adaptive reuse and the largest commercial use of hempcrete in Australia, the new campus combines innovative and experimental approaches to resilient and sustainable design while reviving an iconic piece of local heritage.

Using found conditions to drive the conceptual direction of the new, the design celebrates history, biophilia and climate responsiveness.

As a result, the building's demountable design enables the campus to adapt and flex with the university's evolving pedagogical needs.
