WJ Studio, among others, has designed the Sunac Mogan Valley Zhulinli Demonstration Area in Deqing, China.

The Sunac Mogan Valley Zhulinli Demonstration Area project is located at the eastern foothills of Mogan Mountain in the county of Deqing.

This project combines the thought process behind the locality of a building and a second residence and reflects on the similarities and differences in the positioning of residential and B&Bs on the market to achieve its goal.

The design adheres to a simple and pure lifestyle that embraces nature, breaking the indoor space barrier between B&Bs and residences and making the home an external manifestation of an independent individual lifestyle.

At the same time, attention is paid to the integration between indoor and natural scenery and scenes such as resting, socialising, working and leisure are integrated into the space, reshaping the diversity of living experience from a design perspective.

This project has been shortlisted in the hotel and short-stay interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
