Competition overview
The former Bodegas Vinival complex invites architects and designers to reimagine the Valencian industrial landmark through an adaptive reuse project.
Participants are asked to transform the site into a cultural and civic hub, reimagining both the interior and surrounding outdoor areas while taking the structure's industrial past into consideration.
The proposal should integrate new elements, materials and programmes that compliment the architectural language of the original complex and reflect the vibrant, festive spirit of Las Fallas and the evolving identity of the city.
Designers are encouraged to work across different scales, from planning large public spaces and landscape
interventions to designing architectural features that support events, exhibitions and everyday activities throughout
the year.
Eligibility and judging criteria
The jury will evaluate all the proposals according to the following principles:
- Originality of the concept
- Integration with the historical context
- Creative interpretation of the programme
- Sensitive use of materials and textures
- Landscape design solutions
- Graphic representation
Projects that express a special sensitivity towards the historical context and quality landscape design solutions will be highly appreciated.
How to enter
Participants are required to submit two A1 panels and a brief text describing the project.
Submission deadlines
The submission deadline is 7 November 2025, with winners to be announced on 8 December 2025.
