Dezeen Competitions: Archcontest's House of the Dictator competition calls for conceptual architectural proposals for a dictator's house.

Competition overview

Through this satirical theme, the House of the Dictator competition aims to foster a critical reflection on the concept of a 'house' for a dictator.

The competition invites participants to explore – with creativity and irony – how architecture can challenge conventions and offer new perspectives.

Eligibility and judging criteria

The competition is open to any participant aged 18 and over. Proposals can be submitted individually or by teams of up to five individuals.

Submissions are judged based on their ideas – participants can choose any site location, real or imaginary, as well as the size of their structure.

How to enter

Participants must upload a maximum of three landscape-orientated presentation boards in A2 format. The boards may include sketches, renderings, plans, sections, elevations, diagrammes and/or other elements relevant to the presentation.

The total presentation size must not exceed 10 MB.
