Created by design brand Hulger and designed by Samuel Wilkinson, the looping, low-energy CFL bulb beat over ninety other shortlisted designs across architecture, product, fashion, transport, graphic, furniture and interactive design.

The Plumen 001 and all the shortlisted designs remain on show at the Design Museum until 7 August.
