MCZ wins the IF Product Design Award 2011 with its Toba eco-stove
Yet another astounding success for Toba, the pellet stove by MCZ ensuing from the creativity of Emo Design: the epitome of style and eco awareness, Toba was picked by an international panel of experts and awarded the IF Product Design Award 2011, in the “buildings" category.
Since it was first introduced in 1953, the IF Product Design Award is a synonym for the highest quality design. The winners are nominated after a painstaking analysis of hundreds of proposals originating from all over the world by the brightest industrial concerns in terms of innovation and creativity. For the 2011 edition, the jury panel sorted through 2,756 projects by 1,121 participants from 43 different countries. Toba stood out from the rest owing to its eco features (indeed, it affords a level of product recyclability of 90%, a genuine record in the world of stoves) and, thanks to the absence of front air outlets, as well as for the absolutely innovative styling for a type of product which is usually dependent upon technical-structural restraints.
The front of this stove is a large ceramic surface which embraces the combustion chamber, setting centre stage for the flame itself. Toba is the result of a new way of conceiving the pellet stove: it is no longer simply a tool to generate heat, but rather a genuine furnishing element, something to show off, an object which enhances the appeal of a home. The awarding of the IF Product Design Award 2011 further confirms the values of the MCZ Group, which constantly invests in innovation, research and design to accommodate the need for style, functionality and energy savings through products that are truly one of a kind. In fact, MCZ is the first Italian company in this industry to have won this prestigious award, thereby setting a major record which ranks it among the pioneers of design applied to the world of pellets.
