With five days left to enter Dezeen Awards, here is what you need to know about the studio categories

Would you like to be crowned architect, designer or interior designer of the year by one of the biggest awards programmes on the planet?

It is not too late to start working on your submission! With five days to go until entries for the inaugural Dezeen Awards close, here are five answers to our most frequently asked questions about the studio categories.

What are the studio categories?

The studio categories within Dezeen Awards have been specifically created to highlight the architects and designers producing the most outstanding work. There are six studio categories:

Architecture
› Architect of the year
› Emerging architect of the year

Interiors
› Interior designer of the year
› Emerging interior designer of the year

Design
› Designer of the year
› Emerging designer of the year

Among these categories, our panel of industry-leading judges will also be selecting the emerging designers and studios who they feel are set to make a big impact on the design world.

The emerging category is for all-round design excellence over a body of work by an individual or practice that has been in business for ten years or less.

Together with the three awards for best overall project in architecture, interiors and design, the studio categories make up part of the Ultimate Dezeen Awards, a top tier of nine accolades that will honour the most outstanding design talent of the year.

There are six studio categories in total that you can enter

What will judges be looking for?

For studio categories, Dezeen Awards judges are looking for individual designers or companies that show strong vision and achievement both in terms of completed projects, business success, client satisfaction and creating a positive impact.

Our unique judging criteria will highlight how beautiful, innovative and beneficial design projects are.

What is the fee to enter the studio categories?

Dezeen Awards is one of the most affordable design awards around. Entry fees have been set as low as possible to encourage entries from every type of studio around the world. Reduced rates are available for studios and practices with less than 10 employees.

Entry fees are as follows:

› For individuals and companies with 10 employees or fewer: £100 per category entry
› For companies with more than 10 employees: £200 per category entry

Prices exclude VAT.

Judges include Thomas Heatherwick, Amanda Levete, Sadie Morgan and Terence Conran

How do I enter?

Entering the studio categories is the same as with any other Dezeen Awards category.

Go to the entry page and create an account. You can then enter by completing the form and adding your studio awards category, listed at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

You will be asked to provide a short description of your studio, a longer description of your overall vision, business success, completed projects and responsible management practices as well as why your studio should win a Dezeen Award.

The entry forms are detailed and will guide you through the process.
