VDF teamed up with Lensvelt for a series of live talks exploring the furniture brand's collaborations with designers Maarten Baas, Joep van Lieshout and Fabio Novembre. To kick off the collaboration, Lensvelt founder Hans Lensvelt introduced the brand in a live Screentime conversation.
Founded in 1962 by his father, Lensvelt took the reins of the brand in 1985 and has since facilitated its extensive product line of home and office furnishings.
The brand frequently collaborates with a roster of Dutch designers for their products, including Marcel Wanders, Piet Hein Eek and Richard Hutton, who designed a range of stackable chairs and barstools for the brand.
The talk was part of our wider collaboration with Lensvelt for Virtual Design Festival which included three Screentime interviews with designers Maarten Baas, Joep van Lieshout and Fabio Novembre, all of which have designed products for the brand.
Baas designed a family of upholstered chairs for Lensvelt in 2019, which featured irregular shaped back rests. The chair will be included in the VDF products fair as part of the VDF x Lensvelt collaboration
Van Lieshout has designed a variety of products for the brand, including a sofa system with sliding backrests entitled the AVL Glyder.
Also being published in the VDF products fair is a range designed for the brand by Novembre entitled New Balance, which comprises a sofa system and armchairs that are designed to look askew.
