Dezeen Showroom: a relaunch of a postmodernist chair with a playful and organic shape is among ten new products featured on Dezeen Showroom this week.

Ekstrem chair by Terje Ekstrøm for Varier

Originally created by industrial designer Terje Ekstrøm in 1984, Varier has rereleased the Ekstrem chair in new fabric options.

The chair is a classic piece of Norwegian postmodernist furniture and is now available in a knitted velvet fabric called Gentle 2 from Danish upholstery brand Kvadrat.

The Ekstrem chair was featured on Dezeen Showroom this week, alongside a sun umbrella that doubles as an outdoor light source and a seating collection that features armrests used as an additional place to sit.
