Dezeen teams up with Gaggenau, Lasvit, Moooi and more during Milan Design week

Dezeen is partnering with a number of international brands during Milan design week this year, including talks with Moooi, Gaggenau and Design Hotels, and videos with Lasvit, Technogym and Triennale Milano.

Dezeen will be co-hosting events throughout the week, including a panel discussion exploring neuroaesthetics with Design Hotels, a talk about the principles of reduction and essentialism in design with Gaggenau, as well as a discussion on lighting and the senses with Moooi.

We'll be producing videos documenting installations and new product launches for brands including industrial design studio Blond, Swiss company V-Zug, glass company Lasvit, aluminium specialist Hydro, as well as exhibitions by home fitness brand Technogym and the Triennale Milano museum.

Our editorial and digital teams will be providing live coverage and reporting on the ground throughout the week, with updates each day featuring exclusive previews of the best products, installations and events.

Dezeen x Design Hotels talk – Further: Neuroaesthetics – Design for the Mind
Tuesday 16 April

Dezeen is teaming up with Design Hotels and FSB to host a panel discussion delving into Design Hotel's new cultural study on the burgeoning field of neuroaesthetics.

Titled Further: Neuroaesthetics – Design for the Mind, the talk will focus on how aesthetics, neuroscience, anthropology, culture and technology influence our brains, bodies and behaviour, leading to new innovative approaches to design.

Moderated by Dezeen editorial director Max Fraser, the panel features Reddymade founder Suchi Reddy, architect Sigurd Larsen and neuroaesthetics expert Robyn Landau from Kinda Studios.

The talk takes place at Caffè Populaire starting at 4:00pm, with culinary creations by Ananas Ananas available throughout the event alongside new designs by DWA, Lambert & Fils and Sophie Lou Jacobsen.

Dezeen x Gaggenau breakfast and talk – Design by Reduction
Wednesday 17 April

Dezeen has teamed up with Gaggenau for a breakfast and live talk exploring how principles of reduction and essentialism in architecture and design can be employed to improve our lives.

Dezeen's editorial director Fraser will moderate the discussion, with panellists including Zaha Hadid Architects associate director Johannes Schafelner, SOM interiors lead Francesca Portesine and Industrial Facility founder Kim Colin.

The event will take place at Gaggenau's Elevation of Gravity installation, which showcases the brand's latest collections exploring crafts and designs that aim to elevate quality of life.

This is a private event and is strictly invitation-only.


Dezeen x Moooi talk – The Living Room
Thursday 18 April

Dezeen will be teaming up with Dutch brand Moooi to host a panel discussion exploring lighting and the senses in design. The talk will focus on how lighting, scents and surfaces can impact our imagination and senses.

Moderated by Dezeen's editorial director Fraser, the talk features a panel of expert speakers including Yves Behar, Lidewij Edelkoort and Marcel Wanders.

The talk coincides with Moooi's exhibition titled A Life Extraordinary, which features existing and new collections, including pieces by Cristián Mohaded and BCXSY, as well as a series of carpets and wall coverings.

The exhibition will take place from 16 to 21 April 2024 at Salone dei Tessuti, while the talk will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday 18 April.

Spiral Light will be on display at the Blond Laboratory exhibition

Videos highlighting products and installations from across Milan

In addition to co-hosting talks and events, Dezeen Studio will be producing videos documenting activities across Milan.

We're partnering with industrial design studio Blond to create video content focused on the studio's Blond Laboratory exhibition, which invites seven of the world's most exciting industrial designers to reimagine everyday objects.

Other exhibitions we'll be producing video content for is 100R by Hydro, which will showcase unique design objects made from post-consumer aluminium scrap, as well as Triennale Milano and Fondation Cartier's retrospective exhibition celebrating Italian designer Alessandro Mendini's work.

To coincide with the exhibition, French designer Philippe Starck has created an installation titled "What?", which entails Starck's immersive reimagining of Mendini's creative universe.

Patricia Urquiola's reinterpretation of Technogym's exercise bench will be on display

We'll be capturing content from Technogym's Design to Move exhibition, which features reinterpretations of its exercise bench by leading designers and artists including Patricia Urquiola, Nendo and Antonio Citterio.

Look out for videos showcasing Lasvit's glass exhibition titled Re/Creation, which features a centrepiece installation by the brand's art director Maxim Velcovsky called Porta and pieces from its newly launched Nebula collection.

We will also be producing videos featuring a sculptural installation by V-Zug in collaboration with Italian architect Elisa Ossino and artist Henry Timi.

The installation, called Time and Matter, will showcase the Swiss company's kitchen appliances, with mirrored surfaces and an array of stones, totems and monolithic sculptures.
