Czech lighting brand Lasvit has preserved the forms of dried flowers inside hand-blown glass to create a large chandelier in a home in Napa Valley, California, as shown in this video produced by Dezeen for the brand.
Called Herbarium, the installation was made from dozens of individually crafted glass pieces suspended at different heights above the home's main living area.

Some of the glass pieces are long and slender, while others form rounded, teardrop-like shapes, creating a loose cascade that extends towards the floor.
Each piece was made by placing dried flowers and plants beneath molten glass. The heat consumes the organic material while leaving its impression embedded in the crystal.
"Our glassworks are surrounded by wild nature," said Lasvit chief designer Mária Čulenová, who led the creative team behind the installation.
"With Herbarium, we wanted to capture this wilderness so that anyone could take home a piece of this landscape – a piece of the meadow, preserved in glass."
The chandelier occupies the centre of the double-height living room, where it hangs in front of a large window overlooking the surrounding landscape.
Its clear and amber-toned pieces catch both daylight and artificial illumination, casting irregular shadows across the pale walls.
The residence sits in Napa Valley, surrounded by vineyards, wildflowers and a stream running through the property.
Inside, the Herbarium installation echoes the vegetation visible through the windows, preserving its forms in glass.
Herbarium is part of Lasvit Icons, a collection of the Czech glassmaker's designs adapted into modular systems.
Rather than producing every installation entirely from scratch, the system uses individually handcrafted components that can be configured for different interiors, from private homes to larger architectural projects.
Founded in 2007 by Leon Jakimič, Lasvit specialises in bespoke lighting, glass installations and architectural glass, combining traditional Bohemian glassmaking with contemporary design.
Other projects by Lasvit featured on Dezeen include its 2025 Soaked in Light exhibition, which featured a splash-shaped installation and glass light imprinted with a tree branch.
