Refolo Landscape Architects has designed a semi-public communal courtyard podium deck with a shallow concrete pond.

The studio's design restored and enhanced the original Brutalist layout with innovative contemporary solutions. These included new paving design; a pedestrian priority roadway; contemporary jet water features; diverse drought-tolerant terrestrial planting providing interest and biodiversity.

The water garden also provides new aquatic shallow shelves with marginal vegetation; newly designed lighting across the site enhancing Brutalist features; reinstatement of the forgotten 60s self-sufficient tree irrigation; and a new rainwater harvesting system for irrigation.

This project has been longlisted in the landscape project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
