House of Flowers
by Walker Warner Architects

Douglas Friedman

Walker Warner has converted a warehouse into House of Flowers, a winery tasting room in California.

After a complete renovation and expansion, a modest warehouse was transformed into House of Flowers, an elegant hospitality venue discreetly tucked into the landscape.

By visually refining the structures, simplifying the palette and abstracting the traditional vernacular detailing, the architecture honours the local agrarian context while curating an extraordinary experience for its guests.

Indoor and outdoor tasting areas can accommodate small or large gatherings, all oriented to enjoy the gardens within an intimate setting.

This project has been longlisted in the hospitality building category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
