ARCHETYPES from Poseidonia to Paestum: research of contemporary artifacts by Bhumi Ceramica. Photo is by Antonio Bergamino.

Archetypes was born from the idea of enhancing the heritage present in Campania through the creation of porcelain objects inspired by the 5th century BC finds from the Museum of the Archeological Park of Paestum, a Unesco World Heritage site.
The research by Aniello Rega, Nello Antonio Valentino, Giuseppe Valentino, Raffaele Calvino and 400GON started with the aim of identifying the most significant finds for the territory and their distinctive features to create contemporary narrative objects transversal to home accessories and food design. They are handmade using the slip casting technique innovated through technological aids such as 3D modeling and printing.

This project has been longlisted in the homeware design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
