Tempo Move by Level
Eric Louis Haines

level has designed an in-home fitness device that uses innovation in spatial mapping and recognition by using a user's iPhone to capture form and detect weights based on colour.

Tempo Move utilises a dock that puts the user's iPhone at precisely the correct height and angle to use as the body and weights sensor, capturing the user’s form and relaying feedback in real time. Its round shape swivels to capture the user's workout, while the sliding backrest secures the phone. It connects to any television, displaying live feedback via trainer-guided workouts.

Bent sheet metal unifies the design with Tempo's existing aesthetic language, while textiles and natural materials bring tactility, warmth and comfort. The design was developed to remove the need for a display, significantly reducing environmental impact, physical footprint and price to make health and wellness more accessible to a greater number of users.

This project has been longlisted in the product design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
