Laura Deschl has designed The Healing Imprint in Kallmünz, Germany.

This project explores how non-invasive acupressure can be integrated into activewear while understanding textiles as a therapeutic interface on the body and how it opens up the potential of wearables for mental health.

The custom-knit garments with an aesthetic embracing fashion and wellbeing cultures allow small massage balls to be inserted and moved onto specific acupressure points on the body, feet, hands and head.

For those with a lost connection to their bodies in the wake of trauma, The Healing Imprint aim to re-establish the bridge between body and mind by bringing up buried emotions.

This project has been longlisted in the wearable design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
