The False Banana Pavilion

Flea Folly Architects has built the False Banana Pavilion in Haywards Heath, United Kingdom.

Designed and built by Flea Folly Architects, this project was one of five temporary installations located across the 500 acres of Wakehurst's National Trust wild botanic gardens.

The Flase Banana Pavilion is a large rectangular wooden frame, standing at 6 metres in height and 3.2 square metres in footprint.

"A layer of gothic, willow shields wrap and adorn all four sides, whilst the pavilion is topped with a Sarass grass haircut," told Flea Folly Architects.

Upon entering, one is faced with a contrasting full-height pyramidal space that is clad in over 900 CNC-cut birch plywood leaves.

This project has been shortlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
