Fyra has renovated Konelabra, once the Helsinki University of Technology, in Helsinki, Finland.
Located at Eerikinkatu 32-36 in central Helsinki, Konelabra is a red-brick landmark with a long history as a hub for technical education.
Originally built in 1925 and 1933 for the Helsinki University of Technology and designed by architect Onni Tarjanne, the building stood empty for over five years before its new chapter began.
Fyra joined the project as the principal designer in late 2023, working with the property owner, Cobbleyard Real Estate, on a full reimagining of the building's use.
"The goal was to translate the building's potential into reality by creating functional and inspiring office and showroom spaces," said Fyra.
This project has been longlisted in the heritage project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
