Giovanni Mecozzi Architetti has designed the interiors of Gironda Palazzo, a residence in Ravenna, Italy.
Giovanni Mecozzi Architetti has transformed a residence within Ravenna's Palazzo Guaccimanni, blending historical memory with a modern vision of hospitality.
This project focuses on the interiors, where ancient rooms are reimagined through bespoke architectural furnishings that support new residential functions while preserving the space’s original identity.
Contemporary in form yet respectful of context, these elements interact harmoniously with the palazzo’s history through refined materials and balanced geometries.
Deep, intense colours, drawn from Ravenna's rich decorative tradition and iconic early Christian and Byzantine mosaics, enhance the connection to the city's cultural heritage, creating a sophisticated dialogue between past and present.
This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short stay interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
