Karv One Design has designed the interiors of Muziji, a community cultural centre located in Changsha, China.

For the design of Muziji, the team studied the lifestyle of Changsha's old urban areas, blending the emotional memories of village squares with the design techniques of traditional courtyard houses.

"Villages carry people's emotional and aesthetic perceptions," said Karv One Design.

Featuring a gathering space under the eaves, a community café, a tea space, a familiar square, a youth tribe and over 15 mixed-use formats, Muziji serves as a hub for energy and dialogue, offering more possibilities for human connection and interaction.

This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
