The New Raw has designed Knotty, a sculptural, stackable stool made from recycled plastic, combining playful form with craft references and local production.

Knotty is a versatile stool by The New Raw, designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Its bold, tactile surface is inspired by traditional knitting, translating the softness of fabric into a sculptural, durable form.

Compact and stackable, it balances ergonomics, sustainability and aesthetics. A perforated structure allows water to drain, making it easy to maintain.

Produced in The New Raw's Rotterdam studio using robotic 3D printing and recycled plastic, Knotty blends circular values with playful utility.

Designed and tested to last for years, "Knotty is more than a product, it's a companion built to endure and enrich everyday spaces," said The New Raw.

This project has been longlisted in the seating design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
