Yuri Himuro has designed Colorwave, a woven blanket that changes visual expression depending on the viewer's angle.
Colorwave is a blanket with patterns that shift depending on viewing angle, creating a subtle and surprising visual experience.
Its textured surface features raised areas where two different images are woven side by side, revealing distinct expressions depending on perspective.
Inspired by the movement of light, the pattern changes based on the shape of what it covers and the viewer's position.
Designed by Yuri Himuro, the effect is achieved through a custom jacquard structure developed by the designer herself, using only wool and cotton – without any printing or surface treatment.
This project has been longlisted in the textile design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
