Oval Partnership and HK Timberbank have collaborated on the design of The Scents and the Soil, a sculptural concierge counter.
The Scents and the Soil is a sculptural concierge counter co-designed by the Oval Partnership and HK Timberbank, featuring salvaged wood from a 400-year-old camphor tree found in Tai Po, Hong Kong.
The piece was crafted using eco-friendly processes, highlighting the tree's natural beauty and history. It serves as a functional art piece, exuding a calming fragrance and telling the story of its origin.
The client, Hang Lung Properties, sought an innovative and sustainable design for their office in the Standard Chartered Bank Building in Central, Hong Kong.
The result is a captivating piece that visitors can enjoy, featuring a unique blend of art and sustainability.
This project has been longlisted in the bespoke design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
