Pink Sparrow has collaborated with Es Devlin's team to design An Atlas of Es Devlin, an ambitious, immersive retrospective space at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City, United States.
In honour of Es Devlin's career, highlights, which range from intimate theatre work to massive, modern-day cultural moments like Beyonce's Renaissance Tour, U2's groundbreaking Sphere residency, Dr Dre's Super Bowl halftime show and installations at global institutions, including the United Nations headquarters and more, are celebrated.
For the retrospective, displayed at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Pink Sparrow mapped out the making of her monumental works across space and time using 300 objects from the designer's archive and studio.
The objects, including sketches, paintings, illuminated paper cuts, and projection-mapped rotating miniature sculptures, are all arranged in loosely chronological sections.
This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
