OFIS Architects has restored and renovated the interiors of 3x3 Light House in Cres Island, Croatia.

The 3x3 Light House is a restoration that combines new design with historical values to revitalise its connection to the city.

This project reimagines forgotten space, transforming it into a functional, sustainable home that honours the past while embracing the present.

The lightweight wooden slats reduce environmental impact and perfectly address the island's challenges, where access is limited to ferry transport and the city centre is pedestrian-only.

Furthermore, it demonstrates how urban revitalisation can preserve heritage while creating spaces that meet modern needs.

This project has been shortlisted in the house renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
