Tuckey Design Studio has designed the interiors of Casabella di Como in Lombardy, Italy.
A once-abandoned concrete shell reinvigorated into a serene contemporary villa, with an interior design scheme informed by local materiality.
Tuckey Design Studio were appointed to take over the existing site, notable for the deteriorating concrete shell that deceived its otherworldly context.
Overlooking Lake Como, Casabella di Como (Lake Como Villa) sits, reinvigorated by local materiality to sit elegantly within its scenic surroundings. The villa is divided into two wings, with the lake-facing volume housing open-plan living spaces.
Ethereal wool curtains levitate as translucent screens, while green-stained oak panelling connects the kitchen, living room and thresholds, making a tonal connection to the rolling hills of Lombardy.
This project has been shortlisted in the residential interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
