Praeger Richter Architekten has designed Living in Fläming, a housing project with residential and communal buildings in rural Brandenburg, Germany.
Living in Fläming includes four houses for living and three houses for shared use for a cooperative of 100 people of all ages in a rural area in Brandenburg.
All apartments are connected to their neighbouring apartments by a veranda, which is used as a common space.
In terms of sustainability, the buildings are constructed using ecological and composite-free wooden materials, are supplied by fossil-free energy and enable gentle water usage.
In addition, the project is aimed to be certified with the DGNB Gold certificate for sustainability.
This project has been shortlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
