Shortlisted for Dezeen Awards 2025 designer of the year, Kwangho Lee is a South Korean designer who runs his practice in Seoul.

Lee began making things by hand as a child, taking inspiration from his grandfather, a farmer who created household objects from natural materials.

After graduating from Hongik University in Seoul in 2007, he founded his studio Kwangho Lee Office.

His work focuses on bringing together different materials, including aluminium, marble, copper, enamel and steel, to reveal the dialogue between surfaces, textures and forms.

Previous projects of his include a collection of furniture made using an ancient Korean firing technique.

Kwangho Lee has been shortlisted in the designer of the year category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
