Winner: Product design (health, wellbeing and wearables) of the year 2025. Ventete has designed the Ventete AH-1, an inflatable, micro-collapsible cycle helmet with industry-leading safety performance.

By replacing foam with air, Ventete has created the first meaningful departure from conventional helmet technology in 30 years.

When inflated, it provides superior protection and cooling. When deflated, the Ventete AH-1 is smaller than a laptop.

Ventete technology focuses on safety and mirrors the cultural shift in movement in cities, where cycling is becoming an accessible and spontaneous part of daily life. Following 10 years of development and testing, the Ventete AH-1 launched in summer 2024.

Where previously cycling was a pursuit for a committed subculture, now it is deeply integrated into everyday urban life. The material innovation came to offer significant advancements in areas that match this contemporary use case: safety, ventilation and aesthetics.

Judges comments: "The construction of this helmet proposes something totally new in a product category that is hard to disrupt. It replaces rigid foam with air, and when deflated it reduces to only take up a small amount of space in a bag or suitcase. Its aesthetic is also futuristic and cool."
