BetweenSpaces has designed the Ame Design Studio in Bengaluru, India.

Ame Design Studio was envisioned as a contemplative workspace, embodied in a solid yet weightless form – like a monolithic rock hollowed and lifted above the ground.

Designed for a textile designer, the studio accommodates a jacquard loom, gallery, material store, boutique, team workspace and the client's private studio.

The stone-clad building is organised along an east-west axis, maximising daylight and culminating in a double-height weaving space.

In addition, whitewashed walls, terrazzo floors and skylights create a calm interior – while tropical landscaping and shaded decks connect the studio with nature.
