Gisbert Pöppler has redesigned the interiors of the Garden Home in Ruhr, Germany.

The villa is part of the Hagener Impuls, a significant architectural ensemble from 1921 in Western Germany, shaped by architects such as Henry van de Velde and Walter Gropius.

Following wartime destruction and subsequent renovations, Gisbert Pöppler radically reimagined the property, preserving the façade and completely reorganising the interior.

The concept connects the landscape and the interior, deliberately shaping the transition between them, yet despite the technical complexity and traditional craftsmanship, the atmosphere remains cosy and minimalist.

The result is a home that serves as a contemporary continuation of a union with architecture, art and craftsmanship.
