We+ and Algal Bio have collaborated on the So-Colored light.

So-Colored is a pendant light by We+, developed in collaboration with Algal Bio to explore microalgae as a colour source in design.

Microalgae harbour a rich diversity of colour – not only green but vivid reds, yellows and blues depending on species and growth conditions – yet their chromatic potential remains largely unexplored.

The light is formed from a nature-derived translucent resin blended with microalgae pigment powder, held within a minimal stainless-steel frame.

As light passes through, the pigments reveal a warmth and depth that synthetic dyes cannot replicate – colour that carries the complexity of living matter.
