Atelier cnS has renovated the Yanbu 1432 Distillery in Nanhai Dali, China.

Yanbu 1432 Distillery Renovation, along the historic Shengfo Thoroughfare, revitalises industrial relics – chimney, water tower and cooling tower – into a waterfront public space.

Anchored by the 600-year-old Yanbu Old Dragon Boat culture, this project creates an elevated walkway system, pocket parks and park-like commercial zones.

Adopting a decentralised, pleasant-to-wander design strategy, the distillery reconnects the town to its river, restoring everyday public life.

The result is a three-dimensional urban block that integrates office, leisure, entertainment and sightseeing, transforming a former factory into a vibrant community hub.
