Wright & Wright Architects has designed the retrofit of the Lambeth Palace Masterplan in London, United Kingdom.

The Lambeth Palace Masterplan is a deep retrofit of the Grade I listed Lambeth Palace estate and a test bed for the Church of England's Net Zero Carbon 2030 ambitions.

Completed while the Palace remained operational, this project combined estate-wide electrification with extensive conservation works, retaining more than 80 per cent of the existing fabric.

A fabric-first strategy included upgraded insulation and 160 historically accurate double-glazed windows, reducing heating demand by 41 per cent, alongside a new Energy Centre powered by three air-source heat pumps and photovoltaics.

This project achieved a 63 per cent reduction in operational energy demand and BREEAM Excellent.
