Muneji Toh Architects has designed Fat Wood Byobu.

The Fat Wood Byobu is a Japanese folding screen made from fat wood, a precious material extracted from pine trees, often rich in resin.

The resin, which has accumulated over many years, glows a "bewitching red when it catches the light," said Muneji.

By using special joints, Fat Wood Byobu can be transformed into various shapes and functions, including a partition, an art wall and a unique lighting fixture.
