Tanghua Architects & Associates has designed the Guangming International Equestrian Centre in Shenzhen, China.
Designed for the 15th National Games, the Guangming International Equestrian Centre reimagines a highly specialised sports facility as an open civic architecture.
A record-scale glulam timber roof spans the main arena, reinterpreting traditional Chinese eaves through contemporary engineering.
Beneath it, a porous sequence of courtyard-like spaces invites movement, interaction and discovery.
By merging structure, landscape and culture, this project transforms equestrian sport into a spatial and public experience.
