Generalgray has designed the Dori Series.

Dori is one of the essential structural members in hanok architecture, carrying the weight of the roof.

Dori Series translates the structural function and form of dori — a cylindrical beam — and jangyeo, the rectangular support positioned beneath it, into furniture scale.

Just as dori bears the roof, the bench bears the body and the table holds objects when paired with a glass top.

The floor lamp reinterprets the form of dori and jangyeo resting on a column, rendered in solid Douglas fir with hanji, traditional Korean paper, wrapped and stitched into a cylindrical form above it.
